The European Polysaccharide Network of Excellence (EPNOE) was founded in 2003 with support of the European Commission. It is comprised of academic, research, and industry institutions working in all areas of polysaccharide science and technology. Its key missions are:
- Fundamental and applied multidisciplinary research
- Innovation and technology development
- Education and dissemination

The Workshop
The workshop will focus on challenges, advances, and all questions related to the technology and applications of polysaccharide-based or polysaccharide-containing fiber-reinforced composites, including (but not limited to) the following topics:
- Sources and raw materials
- Manufacture
- Structure and property characterization
- Performance
- Life cycle analysis
- End-of-life disposal or recycling
The scope of the workshop is wide, and addresses all fiber-reinforced composites containing one or more polysaccharidic components. It includes e.g. single-polymer or self-reinforced composites, nanocellulose, organic-inorganic hybrids, in applications such as automotives, construction, structural engineering, etc.
Researchers from academia and industry, including students, are invited to present their work and participate in the discussions. Both oral and poster presentations will be scheduled.
